Norhazimah Binte Rahmat
Special Education Teacher
Zimah has graduated from the University of Derby back in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychological Studies. Zimah’s interest in Special Education started when she was working as a student care teacher under YMCA. She then went on to work as a research assistant with the Ministry Of Education (MOE) to assess students with Dyslexia.
Zimah gained her teaching experience when she joined St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) as a special education teacher. She has been with SAAC for more than 3 years teaching children with special needs aged 7 to 10 years old presenting with a wide range of spectrum from moderate to severe autism. She is familiar with the special education’s scope and sequence and has experience in classroom settings.
Zimah gains interest to work with young children and is passionate to help this child with special needs to develop their outermost potential and being able to support the child as closely as possible by working hand in hand with their parents and other multi-professionals. Zimah does believe that each individual is different and with the support and efforts as a team, the child is able to achieve their outermost potential.
