Claudette

Special Education Teacher

Claudette is a Special Education Teacher who has over 10 years of experience in working with children with special needs. Early in her career as a preschool teacher, she encountered a number of learners in her class who needed additional support. She spent some time after school to help them cope by doing home visits and setting up one-to-one sessions. It was then when she realized her passion for special education and so she pursued further studies in the field.

Claudette earned her Master of Arts degree in Education major in Special Education from the University of the Philippines. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communication from the same university. Combining her skills in both fields of media communication arts and teaching, she authored a thesis and produced an instructional video of self-help skills for children with special needs.
Using her passion, dedication to help, and creativity when conducting her classes, Claudette ensures that no child is left behind. She believes that all children are capable of learning in their own unique way and that we, as teachers, parents and caregivers should nurture their potentials and provide for them an enriching life.

Claudette is trained with teaching techniques such as TEACCH, DIR Floortime, and PECS. She shares a multicultural environment among children with autism, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy and global developmental delay. She participates in workshops related to ABA, Visual Strategies, Think Social, and sensory integration.
